Hi All,

vCenter Appliance 6.7 discovery failing. These are linux based standalone vcenter appliances

Observed error:

Unable to establish connection to https://X.X.X.X/sdk: com.vmware.vim25.NoPermission

We are on Madrid patch 10.

vmware credential is added & gets validated successfully through Test credential.

Credential used assigned readonly & Lic Admin roles.Even tried with setting System Admin role...

Ports: 443,9443,5480 are open, tested using Telnet...

*vijava.jar file present on mid server

As per vcenter KB article https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/1003218.../sdk is not accessible but as explained in this article https://vcenteripaddress/sdk/vimService.wsdl page is displayed.

Has anyone faced similar issue & any fix found? OR Are we still missing anything ?

Thanks

SM

Hi, If there is any oAuth credential on the credentials table which is active then this will cause the issue. Check if there is any if yes then deactivate that and try to discover this vCenter again. It should work. Thanks, Ashutosh

Hi Ashutosh,

No OAuth credentials present on instance. Also rest of discovery working fine & even windows based vcenters are getting discovered.

Thanks

Hi,

Then a quick check. Can you check if you are able to discover or authenticate with Linux host and port 9443 and 5480 is open?

Thanks,
Ashutosh
