Where does fqdn get populated during Discovery. We are currently probe based for windows, linux, ip_switch and ip_router and we have a mix of fqdn being populated or not.

We hae customers asking how fqdn gets populated by Discovery and I am having a little trouble figuring that out. It becomes clearer when we move to patterns but that doesn't seem to be happening in the near future so I am wondering how/where that gets set of windows and linux servers; and switches and routers.

Hey Doug! In regards to network discovery, when I'm looking at the ECCQueue tab and the associated records, I see that the XML includes a tag of <lldpRemSysName type="SnmpOctetString"> which includes the FQDN....but that value is not getting populated into the 'Fully Qualified Domain Name' field in the CMDB. Any recommendations on how to get that value to populate? Not having the FQDN in the CMDB is impacting our CI Binding of Event Mgmt

Check the pattern for the particular network device, it should be there if its returned and if its not being set anywhere you can add an extension section step to set it directly
