Requesting a Production Instance Rename


There is no Service Catalog item on the Hi Support Portal for an automated process for production instance renames.

Users will need to contact the Customer Support by submitting an incident on the Hi Service Portal, the request will be submitted then by the CS - Administration team.

> Review the ServiceNow naming policy (KB0550841) to avoid naming-convention conflicts and delays in processing. Check the box right next to it.

When submitting an incident on the Hi Service Portal, you will need to provide the following details:

■ Current Instance
■ Required Instance [New Name]
■ Old URL availability: Please provide the number of days you would like the old URL to remain

 Note: By default, ServiceNow retains the old URL for 2 business days. It can retain the old URL for up to 7 days. 


 
■ Te Cutover Date: Please provide a date in which the rename can take place

 Note: Add the date you would like the cut over to happen. This date MUST be at least 3 days from the day you are opening your rename ticket.  

  

A follow up on the instance rename's progress shall take place within the incident accordingly.
