Last year, DevOps Change Velocity was changed from a standalone product to one that is included for all ITSM Pro customers. This was important as we recognized the strategic importance of adopting DevOps principles and the need to help our customers through their DevOps transformation. As we moved from an independent product line with a small, yet quickly growing set of customers to one that is part of the largest set of customers at ServiceNow we decided as a product team that we needed to reprioritize our backlog to focus on one of the most important themes needed in order to scale to our new size: simplifying adoption.
In the November 2021 release of DevOps Change Velocity, we introduced a new way to connect the information that teams typically need to understand the risk profile of a Change to the Change Request. This new capability makes it easy for teams to attach information about the Stories, Code Commits, Test Results, and Security Scans to their Change Requests without the need to modify their existing change processes. This provides visibility into the content of the Change so that development teams spend less time filling out Change Requests while improving the consistency of the content. Customers that are using this today to get started on their DevOps journey have told us that their Change Approvers now have easier access to what the development teams have produced so that they are more confident in approving the Change Request.
In order to connect the information from the development team we need to connect the development toolchain to ServiceNow. We began shipping integrations from the most common tools from the initial release and continue to add additional integrations. However, it can be difficult to set up these integrations as it has traditionally required the administrators for each of those tools to set up additional configuration to send data to ServiceNow. With the San Diego and May 2022 releases of DevOps Change Velocity we introduced new capabilities for Jira, Github, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps to collect the data that we need without the requirement to set up additional configuration within those tools.
With these new capabilities, it has become easier to bring Development and Operation together to release great products faster without sacrificing quality. And to help you begin your journey with ServiceNow and DevOps we have put together videos to walk you through the process. We are just getting started in partnering with our ITSM Pro customers, and we will continue to innovate to help your teams reduce risk while releasing faster.
Below are a series of videos to help you understand the implementation journey that customers undergo as well as videos to help you set up the integrations between ServiceNow and the four most common tools in the DevOps toolchain that are used. We support far more tools that videos that we have created and will continue to create content to help you through your transformation.
