Auto number field not populating value for a new record but populating number value after inserting or save.

Hi..

I'm creating a conference request table to which i added auto number column.

Whenever I'm inserting new record, auto number field is not populating its value. After inserting record I can see the auto number field value.

Did i do anything wrong? Please let me know....

Yes I did it as specified in the document. My problem is auto number filed is not loading with its value.... It is empty for a new record.

Hi Sharath,

Look for System Properties >> System & then look for below property.

Make sure it is set is checked so as to make number to populate even for new (unsaved) records.

But my problem is.... When I'm trying to insert a new record, the 'Number' field is not populated with auto generated value. This is happening with other applications too. Auto number field is not populated with generated value for a new record. but after inserting i can see number value in list view as well as in the form view.
