In the list view for Hardware assets, I would like to bulk update any particular field such as Location or Model Category. Is this possible?
Thanks.

Jason,
My first thought is to not use Loaner Laptop as a Model category. That isn't really the place to distinguish between a Laptop and a Loaner Laptop. In fact, I usually recommend identifying a device as a Laptop on the Model record because all the devices of a particular model are going to have that one form factor.
Then for the the loaner portion, use a field on the asset record that identifies it as a loaner. Then it can be moved in and out of your loaner laptop pool without strange reconfigurations.
It seems like you are trying to repurpose Model category for something it was not designed to do that could negatively impact how it works for its intended purpose.

Ben,
That does make sense and I initially struggled with that option. Does the Loaner Request System take into account a status type or marker that would easily allow for identification of assets that can be loaned out? Also, I noticed that it is designated for Calgary/Dublin, so will it work with Helsinki?
Thanks.

Hi Jason,
I have not worked with the Loaner Request system on Share, but I'm guessing based on the the designated versions that it either does not work well with the built in Asset Management in ServiceNow or it only works with some of the high level basics of it. ctomasi wrote it and could better answer questions about it.

Thanks for the tag, Ben!
Jason, the loaner request system works with the cmdb_ci table. It is not "asset aware". You can designate any type of CI as a loaner item and organize them in to their respective classes so your list of projectors is separate from the list of laptops or mobile phones, for example.
The latest version is available for Geneva on Share. That's the first release of the scoped app. All previous releases were global.
I have a Helsinki release ready to go. The biggest change is the Guided Setup. I just haven't gotten around to releasing it publicly. If you're interested, we can exchange Follow information so we can DM each other here and I'll get you a link to a pre-release of Helsinki if you're interested.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Chuck,
I am interested. I just clicked to follow you and will await your correspondence. I do appreciate all of the assistance. To me, this is one area that sets ServiceNow apart.
Thanks.
Jason
