Changes exceeding the change window

Hello. Does anyone have a change process that includes extending the change window once it has begun? For example, a change is going to exceed the change window and the change assignee gets approval from the CAB to extend the window. Do you require the change be backed out and a new change created or do you do something else? Thanks for your guidance.

Hi @LadySGRho89

Very tricky question and it's totally depends on the process.

As per my experience,  what we do

If a change going out side window, we create a new change as emergency with current date and expected plan end date and linked to first change.

This change can be approved by Change Manager and app owner ( retrospective in Many cases)

2. The PIR task gey created for first change by work flow as it extend the window.

After change

1 we check the risk questions where we asked user about similar change execution.

2. A details investigation done with PIR to found RCA.
