convert time 12 hours format for catalog variabl

Hi,

I have Date/Time variable type on my catalog item. I want to convert the time to 12 hours format when I select date/time from calender on catalog item. It should reflect the time as AM or PM on same textfield after selecting date/time.

I don't want to change the system properties because i want to change the time format only for particular catalog item.

Can anyone help me on this?

I don't think any other way other than system property
