Create an approval process on the Standard Change Template Table

Has anyone created an approval process for the records in: std_change_record_producer.list table?  Is this a good idea?  I found the documentation of: Propose Standard Change Template but my users are concerned about out of date proposals.

Whenever a change occurs in the standard change templates, it triggers the approval process. This is out-of-the-box functionality.
