Custom URL Issue

We are trying to configure a custom URL for one of our portals:

• Custom URL: ictsupport.xxxx.ie
• ServiceNow instance: abcdev.service-now.com
• Mapping: ictsupport.xxx.ie  =  abcdev.service-now.com (via CNAME)
When we check externally (for example using DNS resolver 1.1.1.1), the domain resolves correctly to our instance. However, when we try to configure this in ServiceNow > Custom URL, we are getting an error that the domain does not exist (Domain ictsupport.xxx.ie is unreachable. Ensure it is up and running before adding it as a custom url)

I'm thinking that logging a Now Support case might be a good option here.
