Hi Neelima, this wiki article should help explain it Service Catalog Management - ServiceNow Wiki .
Catalog Items: Create and edit catalog items, the actual goods or services available to order from a catalog.
Record Producers: Enable records to be created directly from the service catalog. For example, allow customers to raise incidents from the service catalog.
Order Guides: Create and edit standard groups of related items, allowing end users to easily order these items in one request.
Please don't hesitate to mark my reply as helpful or correct if you agree that it was.

The main difference between a catalog item and an order guide is what happens after you submit them. A catalog item works with the cart where you can add multiple and then checkout. On the back end it creates a request, request item, and possibly approvals and tasks depending on its workflow. A record producer is ordered one at a time and creates one record on the back end, most commonly an incident. An order guide is used to guide the user into ordering multiple items.
