Hello Everyone,

We are looking at displaying dashboard on wall mounted displays and I came across the following blog :

https://community.servicenow.com/community?id=community_blog&sys_id=c884a883dbb227c0656a5583ca961905

As per my understanding  steps to be followed and questions are :

  1. Create a user with eg : User name: "Display Dashboard User" . What Role can be assigned to this user .(How does logging in work for the user? Will the user get logged out? Do we need a license for this user?)
  2. Login as "Display Dashboard User" and create the KPI dashboard.
  3. Change the url of the dashboard to - http://myinstance.service-now.com/$pa_dashboard.do
  4. How to display the dashboard on Wall mounted displays?

Please advise how to address this requirement.

Thanks in advance!

You can use the screens browser to get this done. Or you can cast to it from another device. You can also use the monitor as extra screen on a device, or just use it as display from a computer.

Depending on what you want to show, it could mean you need a license for it (if publicly sharing reports isn't possible).

If my answer helped you in any way, please then mark it as helpful.

Thank you for sharing the blog link. It seems to provide valuable information about displaying dashboards on wall-mounted displays. Regarding the steps you mentioned and the questions you have, here are some suggestions:

For the user who will be responsible for displaying the dashboard, you can create a user account with a suitable role. Depending on the specific requirements and access needed, you can consider roles like "Dashboard Viewer," "Display User," or a custom role tailored to your organization's needs. As for logging in, the user would log in just like any other user in the system. They will remain logged in unless they explicitly log out or their session expires based on the system settings. It's important to check your licensing terms to determine if any additional licenses are required for this user, as it may vary depending on your ServiceNow subscription.

Once you have created the user account, log in as the "Display Dashboard User" and proceed with creating the KPI dashboard following the instructions provided in the blog. Be sure to customize the dashboard to include the specific KPIs and metrics you want to display.

To display the dashboard on wall-mounted displays, you can use a web browser or dedicated dashboard software. One option is to use a web browser in kiosk mode, where it automatically launches in fullscreen and displays the desired dashboard URL. You can configure the wall-mounted displays to open the URL "http://myinstance.service-now.com/$pa_dashboard.do" upon startup or at regular intervals. Alternatively, if you have access to dedicated dashboard software, explore its documentation or settings to set up the desired dashboard for display on the wall-mounted screens.
