We have a requirement to record items found in meeting rooms as hardware assets. Things like:
- Video Conferencing end points
- Sufrace Hubs
- Microphones
- UI Panels
- Cameras
If you're recording these items as Assets, what Model Category are you using and which CI Class is being used when these items are discovered?
Thanks in advance

Hi Robin,
Looks like most if not all the items you listed are OOB non-discoverable. If you want to capture the asset information (model, location, assigned to, financial info, location etc. I would recommend you create your own specific model categories using whatever plain language descriptor will make sense to the users of your asset system. Set CI class to none so that unnecessary CI records are not created and select the asset class - you probably want to use the generic HW asset. Create model records within the model category.

Thanks. We have decided to create a new Model Category called Collaboration Gear with the Hardware asset class and the Hardware CI Class.
