How CAB related fields in Change request related with CAB workbench?

Hi All,

We know that with the Istanbul , CAB Workbench is added that is for scheduling CAB meetings from ServiceNow itself.

I have few doubt in that.

-- There are some CAB related fields in Change request form like CAB Required, CAB Date , CAB Delegate etc.

Is CAB Date field related with the CAB Meeting Time ? I have read somewhere that "The CAB date field in the change request is automatically updated with the date in the Meeting start time field of the CAB meeting form " But I tried that ;it didnt work. Can someone explain me how that works so I can look if I am missing some part.

-- CAB required field is a checkbox which basically signify that CAB is required for a Change or not. But Is there any relation of this field with CAB meeting form? Like if CAB required field is checked, only then it will be visible under Agendas of CAB meeting or vice versa.

One thing I noticed is that if the Change Request which is added as an agenda in one of the CAB meeting, and that Change is already Approved---- there is a decision field in CAB Meeting form which automatically changes to Pre approved.

I am looking for these type of information so that I can understand the correlation between change Request form and CAB Workbench. CAB Workbench is a standalone feature to schedule the CAB meetings or it runs along with Change management.

Please provide me some information related to above points or if you have any additional details , I would appreciate. I tried alot in Wiki and Communities but not getting this information.

I am trying to understand what the "CAB required" field does. I think it is just an OOB field so we can use it to script something but, as it is, it doesn't do anything at all.


The changes that will show up in the CAB meeting agenda are driven by the set of conditions for it.... inherited from the CAB definition, but you can modify them further.

1. Is CAB Date field related with the CAB Meeting Time?


- Yes it is related to CAB Meeting time.


Please note that CAB structure is like: CAB Definition -> Can have many CAB Meetings (based on the schedules attached) -> Can have many Agenda Items (based on the conditions defined). You can see the the 'Refresh Agenda Items' related link in the CAB meeting form, after clicking this, all the agenda items (change_requests) which satisfies the defined conditions, gets associated with the CAB Meeting and cab_date field on the associated change_requests is filled with the CAB meeting's start date.




2. CAB required field Significance


- If the change form is configured to show the CAB required check box (OOB configured to show for Normal / Emergency changes), selecting it indicates that CAB approval is required before the implementation. Just for indication purpose.




3. Decision field of agenda items:


- Yes, you are correct and this is the OOB feature.


Approval status of change request determines this, if change request is approved, agenda item decision is pre-approved.

Hi ,

I have created a Section on "change_request" form and field are as below-

CAB date

CAB required

CAB delegate

BUT I can see these fields only in "Normal" and "Emergency" Type of CR. But in other type as "Master Recurring" and "Standard". The fields are not visible. I can see my New Section but not the fields.

Type= Normal- Can see all fields on "CAB" tab

CAB Date is read only for Change Requests in Scheduled State. 

 

How can I change this?
