How do i assign a single task to multiple groups from a single workflow

I have a workflow with a "create task activity" that already assigns to a group for fulfillment. The challenge is that I also want to be able to assign the same task (it is a general task) to multiple groups  from this same workflow. 

Is there a way to achieve this, or do i need to create multiple workflows for all the other assignment groups too?

I would create multiple task, if multiple groups are involved. 

Can you elaborate on the use case, why do you want to create only one task?

I had actually done this before in a different workflow with multiple task. Eventually, I created multiple task and each task with its own assignment group and this worked just fine. Reviewed the requirement again.

I'm not sure how this would work but give it a shot.

Create a list field(similar to watch list) and push all your assignment group names into it from the catalog task activity. Make this field only available for one specific catalog item.

But that being said, you would have to create a custom notification to notify them for this particular item.
