How to avoid Historical data deletion for inactive variable deletion?

Does deleting the inactive catalog variables also delete the historical data ? If yes, can we avoid it in fix script without cascade delete?

yes historical data is also deleted when you delete active/inactive variables

So Recommendation is not to delete but simply inactivate them
