How to Create AD User in Specific OU using Microsoft AD Spoke

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on creating a flow to manage Active Directory (AD) users using the Microsoft AD Spoke. I have successfully established a connection between AD and ServiceNow, and I have tested this connection using one activity, which worked fine.

To ensure there is no impact on production data, I am performing all these changes and tests in a TEST environment.

My goal is to test functionalities like creating, deleting, and updating users in a specific Organizational Unit (OU) in AD.

Can anyone guide me on how to specify the OU ?

Thanks in advance!😊

Hi @Robin ,

There should be an input labeled Organizaitonal Unit in the Create User Flow Action.

Is it not there in your action? If so, can you share its screenshot?

Cheers

Hi @Robin  ! 👋

Since you're not seeing the option to specify the Organizational Unit (OU), I’m guessing you might be using v1 of the Microsoft Active Directory Spoke.

If you’re looking to avoid creating any custom actions, I’d suggest exploring Microsoft Active Directory v2 Spoke. In this version, you can directly specify the OU when creating a user in the "Create User" activity—just like @James Chun shared with his screenshot.

Let me know if you still have any questions or your thoughts on this! 😊

Thanks, @James Chun! I was aware of the V2 spoke too, but was just exploring if anything could be done with Microsoft Active Directory V1 Spoke. However, I ended up using the V2 spoke in the end anyway.
