i tried to check through elements and found it has designed under the <tr> tag and i am not sure if it's good way to do it or not. but i have one question why you want to hide. if you don't need short description then you can make it empty from maintain item short description field
I would like to know the same thing as Diane. We have to fill in the short description so the Employee Portal search returns results that make sense, but we don't want them to show for users that use the Service Catalog directly.
