How to make Attachements Private or Public.

Hello,

I have a requirement to make attachments to a form as public or private. I have added a checkbox on attachement form named "Is Private file".At the time of attachement if I check the check box, this attachement is private and should be visible to only ITIL and admins. If I dont check this check box by default this attachement will be public and visible to all.

I have tried this on demo019. But I dont find way to proceed to make this functionality work.

Can anyone guide me on that.

Thanks in advance.

On my PDI I didn't disable the ACL with that line commented out, but did edit on it with the code I submitted.

So try enable the ACL and modify it with the code provided.

Good luck

Thanks for your help.
Looks like it was a browser caching issue, as I can now get the private check box to appear.

One thing I did notice is that users with the private attachment role were not able to select and un-select the private check box, only view them. I added another ACL to give that role write access to the check box as well.

The only thing I'm still struggling with is hiding the private checkbox itself from appearing for anyone without the private attachment role. For some reason the ESS user is still able to see the private checkbox when it hasn't been selected. They should still be able to see the attachment and access the rename and delete options, but shouldn't be seeing the private checkbox.

Hello there,

I have implemented the above in the Paris release and everything was working fine until a week ago when the feature stopped working. I am unable to understand what it is, I only know that know the only one that can use the "private attachment" is the admins, a regular ITIL agents with the "private attachment" role cannot longer use this function.

If selecting private from the form, the checkbox is marked correctly but then when saving, updating or reloading, goes back to be unchecked.

If selecting private from the list of attachments, the mark appears and disappears in a fraction of seconds without being able to activate it.

I removed everything about the private attachments, and did all the procedure from scratch but no luck. As well I do not get how the functionality stopped working suddenly without any major changes either on the functionality itself or other implementation made by us admins. It is possible that the update of Paris made changes that are interfering with the private attachments? And why admins are able to use it without any problems?

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

I forgot to mention that, because admins can still use the private functionality, now if I mark an attachment as private with an admin user, it is going to be hidden for everyone whom is not an admin. Before was not in this way, therefore I do not know why this is happening.

Thank you.
