Is it possible to have a template assign a tag?

I have been making several templates to quickly assign newly created incidents to different teams in our organization. When we assign to these teams we also add a tag to the incident for tracking and trending purposes for our Service Desk team. I really enjoy how easy it is to create a template but I have not found a way to have the template assign the tag as well. Is this possible and maybe I am just missing something?

Hi Dominic,
As tags are not associated to the task table, I do not think that you can by default add this as a field in the template. You could somehow link the two tables in order to add this information.
Depending on what information you are adding into the tags, surely your templates could just populate a hidden field and report on that to save some time? Or put something within your template for your reporting purposes.

I know this is a 4 year old question, but is this a potential update to let a template assign a tag?
