Is there a read only role for APM Buisness Applications?

We would like to allow staff to have 'read only' access to Business Applications. We have added a lot of useful information we would like staff to have access to; however, we do not want everyone to have access to edit this information.

I have found three roles for APM: sn_apm.apm_user, sn_apm.apm_analyst and sn_apm.apm_admin. All three roles allow staff to Create/Update/delete applications.

Is there a role that will give read only or do I have to create one?

Remove sn_apm.apm_user role from write and create ACL's and add  sn_apm.apm_analyst or sn_apm.apm_admin roles to these ACL's

And to the read ACL add sn_apm.apm_user role

We noticed there is a Plugin in the New York Release - "Read only roles for Application Portfolio Management".

Is there any difference in this OOB role in NY Release -vs-  manually creating the role & ACL's?

OOB APM Read-only role starts with New-York version and following:

The purpose of this plugin should mostly consist of adjusting the license pricing model, since APM roles are so costy, I suppose it helps ServiceNow avoiding to bill the customer for the read-only role and have this automated and not to investigate & negociate for every customer & custom role
