In that case in the default field, add the text --none- and also create a choice with same label with sequence less than any other on the same element.

The suggestion to add the choices and marking them default was provided earlier(by me) in this forum, can you please mark that a correct answer in order to close the topic.

Since there isn't currently a patch for Helsinki that resolves the duplicate none issue, I ended up creating a new catalog item called "---Please Select---" and made it the default choice.

Hi Yablonski,

You can select the Dropdown with none option in Choice list specification section to prevent the first list item in the dropdown

1. Right click on particular field and go to Configure dictionary

2. it will open a Dictionary Entry form

3. under Choice list Specification you can select choice as Dropdown with None
