Good Afternoon,
I am hoping to pick the brains of the collective. We would like to add a field on our knowledge article templates called "Internal Handling". Its a field that teams can use to put instructions for our Technical teams and Service Desk on how to handle Incidents/Requests associated with that Knowledge Article. That way the article can be end user focused with handling notes for our teams.
I found this document page which had instructions on how to do it:
Restrict access to fields in an article template
However, my reading of the article says that it can only encrypt String, Date, Date/Time, and URL fields. The problem we have is the field in question would be a HTML field.
Has anyone set up anything similar on their Knowledge article templates? did you use this method? the alternative is to create ACLs but our Developers are concerned about creating customisations. Hoping for some insight into how this works.
Regards
Peter

You can limit visibility of an article field by applying field level ACLs on that field in the Knowledge/Article table so only users with certain roles can read it, and combining that with configuring the Can Read setting on the article template (so that the hidden field is only visible to permitted roles)....
