Hi All,
We have a requirement where the User's Name and Preferred Name may differ, and the client wishes to display the Preferred Name as the primary identifier for the referred User record.
To meet this requirement, we've introduced a custom field for Preferred Name and designated it as 'Display: true.' Despite this setup, the Preferred Name isn't consistently utilized across all areas, such as the Employee Center Welcome message. Therefore, we've had to modify the widget to incorporate the Preferred Name instead of the Name field.
Are there any specific locations or instances where the Preferred Name won't automatically be applied, like on dashboards? Additionally, are there any potential repercussions or areas where this change might affect the display of names?

I have the same request where the user wants to use the preferred name and not the legal name is there a way to handle this in ServiceNow without doing additional changes to the databases or scripts?
