Problem Management UI Actions Issue

Hi All,

Wanted to know if anyone has also faced this issue. We recently upgraded our QA and prod envs with Xanadu 4b patch upgrade. We see that the problem management UI Actions which we have aligned or customized earlier have been made false automatically and the updateset version which we had made these changes earlier shows as current and history as patch upgrade updateset and strangely without any difference in the timestamp. Assuming that this issue might have happened because of the patch upgrade. Has anyone faced the same issue or any suggestions would be of a help!!

Hello @Raahul2 ,

It's very unlikely that the upgrade has caused this. The upgrade process is supposed to skip any customized application files. Admins have to review those skipped files and decide if they want to keep the customized version,  revert to the OOTB version, or merge the customization into the OOTB file.

Have you checked if that "Update Set" you mentioned maybe contains Customer Updates related to these UI Actions? That would mean one of your admins reverted or merged them, either by accident or not.

Robert

Hi Robert,

I agree, this has been a strange experience for me as well because its a security patch upgrade and did not expect that the updates will be affected. Generally for patch upgrades or hot fixes, these should not be affected.

Hello @Raahul2 ,

Yes, and not just for patches and hot fixes, even for release upgrades the customized files are typically never touched by the upgrade process. That's why I would rather lean towards human error when working on that Update Set. Did you verify that? If you can rule out a mistake then I would suggest opening a Now Support case.

Robert

Hi Robert,

The Updatesets were deployed perfectly because everything was in place till the patch upgrade. We have noticed this issue today and no changes were made to any of the UI  action by anyone.
