Query On ITSM

Hi Everyone,

While connecting the charger to my office laptop, I noticed a spark near the charging port. Immediately after that, the laptop shut down and is no longer restarting.

In this scenario, what would be the correct process to follow in ServiceNow?

  • Should I raise an Incident for the damaged laptop?

  • Should I request a new laptop through the Service Catalog?

  • Or should this be handled through Change Management or an asset replacement/exchange process?

Please suggest the best practice for handling this type of issue.

Thank you.

Hi @vodnalar26

This process varies company to company.

First You need to create an incident

Your Local IT desk will validate INC-> will check your laptop, charger. They will suggest for next step

a> whether you will raise a Laptop replacement request

b> They will change the laptop charger.

Connect with your IT Help Desk.

Its not related to Servicenow . Its your Company provided Asset issue.
