This was asked by someone else a few years back but was never answered, so I guess I'll ask again. I would like to record some DISK ARRAY assets/CI's in our CMDB but "Disk Array" is not an available class in the ServiceNow out of the box solution. Is anyone using one of the other predefined classes to record their disk array's? Or has anyone added Disk Array as a class? Does anyone have any experience recording these types of devices?

Mark,
I have seen the use of Mass Storage Device for recording storage arrays. It extends Hardware and is also mapped to a Asset class (by a Model category) if I remember correctly. The other OOB class Storage device directly extends from CI hence does not have all the H/W attributes. I have seen custom Storage Device class extending H/W also.
Hope this helps.

Hi Venkatesh:
Thanks for your replay, unfortunately Mass Storage Device isn't available to me either, listed below are the predefined classes we have available in our ServiceNow CMDB under the category of Storage. Have you had any experience using any of the classes below to record disk array's?
Kind regards,
Mark

Mark,
You can request your ServiceNow system admin to add the table to the menu. It is a simple change .. the name of the table is cmdb_ci_msd.
