Remove Duplicate Approvers

I noticed an issue within Change where Approver Names are repeated 2x's

Anyone know why this is happening and how to correct it?

I figured it out, this is my bad.   In my Dev instance I cloned the workflow Change Management - Normal.     I didn't publish the workflow that I remember.   I believe when I cloned the workflow the new version was set to active so I had 2 workflows running and thus duplicate approvals.   That said it was confusing because in the workflow editor it appeared that I was able to inactivate and delete the workflow (but it wasn't working).     Being new to workflows I thought I could delete it under Workflow Versions but that didn't work either.   Eventually I figured out I needed to go to Active Contexts and delete anything running associated with the workflow I wanted to delete, then I was able to delete the workflow and my issue is resolved.

Chuck,

I assumed the same thing, When I looked though There were 2 different Groups.

Change manager Group

Technical Group

But when i go into the different groups, there are completely different members

Hi Blaze,

One uses a static value, one uses a field value, so if the assignment group field contains Change Managers, then you'll get the same group twice.

Just out of curiosity, can I ask why two parallel workflows instead of one?

Chuck,

I can understand the Change Managers showing up twice, but the Service Engineering Group shouldn't be since they are not in the Change Management Group.

unless I am missing something.

The only understanding that I can gain is that there is an "approval" workflow that is used on all requests and so instead of recreating that flow, the implementation team and management team at the organization incorporated into other requests.

Thank you for pointing that out Blaze. I missing some minor detail somewhere. I went back and reviewed your terrific screenshots (thank you by the way).

I officially have no explanation. Unless someone else comes up with something, it might be time to call in customer support.
