Taxonomy Topics are not visible on Employee Center Portal

I am trying to configure Taxonomy Topics for Employee Center Portal. 

I have created new Child Topics inside the OOB Taxonomy Employee. (Please refer to the below  image).

I was with the same issue (my new topic wasn't appearing) and I did a sync in Employee Center > Advanced Portal Navigation. It really worked!
