What are "Containment rules" and "Hosting Rules" in CMDB

Hi,

What are  "Containment rules" and "Hosting Rules" in CMDB. 

In reality, will there be a need to create such rules. If so, what are the use cases.

The article regarding those two types of rules. 

"For example, you can have a hosting rule that specifies that the CI type ‘Application’ ‘Runs On::Runs’, the CI type ‘Hardware’." - 

"For example, you might have a containment rule specifying that the CI type ‘Tomcat’ ‘Contains::Contained By' CI type ‘WAR File’."
