hi All
what will happen when we delete ci but not the asset and again discovery gets the ci back?? would that relate to existing asset? or create new assets or just be there without any linkage between both?

1. When CI is deleted, the associated Asset also get deleted in OOB configuration.
2. When Discovery rediscovers the same CI, a new Asset or no asset will be created. But the same asset won't be re-associated.
3. Even if you restrict deletion of Asset when a CI is deleted, CI won't be re-associated with same asset unless done Explicitly.

Hi Anurag
If the CI is deleted, keeping asset intact and discovery runs and get back the CI. Would it create new asset or it will see asset exists and wont touch?

Hi Surya,
Based on Discovery experience I possess, OOTB Discovery will not be able to recover/re-associate with original asset.
