what happens when we delete ci but not the asset

hi All

what will happen when we delete ci but not the asset and again discovery gets the ci back?? would that relate to existing asset? or create new assets or just be there without any linkage between both?

CI created by Discovery will create a New Asset. The old asset for which CI was deleted, will now have blank CI field.
