Presenter(s): Morten Kær Schøler
Company(s): Region Nordjylland
Abstract: How do we build a central and resilient CMDB in a world where a tremendous amount of Configuration Items (CIs) are maintained in Managed Data Repositories (MDRs) by domain specialists, who are not familiar with ServiceNow and where we want to rely on ServiceNow best practices for CMDB data integration and the Common Service Data Model? We will elaborate on how we achieved this through building a Scoped application that allowed us to: - Ensuring best practice for CMDB data integration - Keep track of all the MDRs within the organization - Document agreements for each MDR - Provide integration to the domain specialists through REST API - Provide an agreement-driven integration for MDRs - Utilizing Identification and Reconciliation framework
