It is a large crowd, but IMO no different than other large tradeshows.
In past shows the crowd's been well disbursed most of the day due to the size of the venue and sessions being spread over multiple floors. I don't know about the Venetian. The only time at past shows that I felt that I was in a sea of thousands was at the general sessions and meals where there can be long lines to get in or to go through the buffet line. The show floor's been big enough to not feel over-crowded.
And, as Johnny says in Airplane!, "And Leon's getting larger!". Attendance is growing every year.
