It is my first time at the Knowledge conference. Do you have any tips, tricks, or advice for newbies on how to get the most out of the Knowledge14 experience?

Network, network, and network (link to my blog). For all the time I spent obsessing about my agendas in my first two conferences, I found I got as much or more value from accidental serendipitous interactions. Like this one year I bumped into Chris Dancy and Arlen Vartazarian at the bar and the conversations we had changed my whole paradigm of work.
Sit with people you don't know at lunch.
Come to my "Principles of Scalable Architecture" session.
Get on Twitter and follow the #ServiceNow and #know14 tags.
Shake hands like a beast.
Buddy up with someone who's already well connected.
Do not miss Fred Luddy's keynote.

A number of items after a few Knowledge excursions.
- Have batteries for cordless mice. They tell you to bring extra long cables but if you are 'mousing' then the batteries will be approriate.
- Walking Shoes because the conference halls are large and will take time.
- When you get your instance/user account/password in a lab, make sure your try them as quickly as possible. When the labs start they move pretty fast.
All for now but maybe more later.

If I was coming from a different country I'd jump on Twitter and try to arrange a patriotic tweet-up.
OR I'd gather some of my countrymen and throw the gauntlet down for an international hackathon sub-contest.
Pour monsieur david.legrand je voudrais trouver d'autres personnes qui parlent français. Un Canadien par example.
