Group Ownership

How is everyone using ownership groups for knowledge? I have been applying them at the article level so that group members can edit the same article, and all members get emails regarding feedback tasks and article expiration warnings instead of just the author. Has that been your experience as well? Is there another way to do it? Not every author wants group ownership applied to every article.

We use Ownership Groups and currently everyone in the group gets an email when an article is changed or published for approval and when a feedback task comes in. The feedback tasks still go to the KNowledge Group Manager of the Ownership group, which is the default. We are moving toward the Knowledge Group Manager of the group to be the final say before an article is published. In this way our articles will match to our style guide. So all approvals would go to that person. In order to do that, we are removing self-approval in the Knowledge Management Setup Guides and changing the approval workflow in the Knowledge Base to go to the Knowledge Group Managers of each Ownership group that is designated at the article level.

We are using the author field so that the KNowledge Group Manager understands who owns the article within their group and can easily send feedback tasks to that person or approves the article quickly based off the Author information.

I'm curious about this as well, and how people are setting them up. For example we are currently setting ours up and I  would love to hear everyone's experience and lessons learned.

Are you all reusing the "Assigned to Group" to mirror in "Ownership Groups"? Meaning adding whatever is populated in Assigned to Group will auto fill for Ownership Groups. Or are you creating new specific Ownership Groups? I don't have admin access because we contract with a 3rd party company, so I'm unclear of a lot of the specifics and configuration options. How do you have KFTs and Ownerships setup at your company?
