I've seen several posts on related questions. I would love to see some feedback from ServiceNow. On a suggested solution to the problem. People are suggesting custom code, third party sites, insane auditing plans. What is the best way to locate and flag broken URLs in the knowledge base?

Do you mind if I ask what the old tool was?

Our team has been using a couple tools to quickly identify broken hyperlinks within a single document, but is not a bulk scan option like it sounds you may be looking for. At any rate, check them out anyways to see if it might help provide some efficiency gains for you:
- Ablebits Broken Link Checker - Add on for MS Word: Link Checker for Microsoft Word - find suspicious and broken hyperlinks (ablebits.com)
- Chrome Broken Link checker - Add on for Chrome Browser: Broken Link Checker - Chrome Web Store (google.com)
- Now that we're moving away from Chrome and over to Edge, I haven't explored some of the new tools compatible with Edge just yet. But, the downside to using the Chrome one is that you can't run it while in edit mode as an HTML file vs. an attachment.
Hope that helps! Thanks.

Thank you for the response. I keep hoping that this will be something that ends up on a road map. This is my favorite platform to manage knowledge on. It bums be out that they keep skipping over such an easy win. It would be a huge selling point as well; I mean I know knowledge management is kind of niche and not a lot of companies put a lot behind it. but they should do a cost analysis on time spent correcting something between a shop that has an active up to date knowledge base and one that relies on tribal knowledge and random google searches. It would be surprising.
I still must look at the ones you linked to, but I am hopeful.
Random FYI: If you have a tool that you really like in Chrome you can pull it into edge, they are both chromium browsers so almost all the extensions from the one can be used in the other. You can even access the chrome store in edge.

It’s something we’ve been asked about a lot too. I hope something comes along!
