KB Submissions - Which workflow does it follow?

This is what ServiceNow product documentation reads.

Which workflow specifically does Knowledge Submissions use?

And what purpose does Knowledge Submissions serve?

I also read here that - If the Knowledge submission workflow (glide.knowman.submission.workflow) is enabled from the System Properties [sys_properties] table, the content in the Short description and Additional comments fields of the incident form become a knowledge submission instead of an article. The KB Submissions related list on the Incident form is populated with the new knowledge submission.

Having the above said property on one page, I toggled between the Boolean values - true and false to observe if it does give me an additional workflow listed on the Workflow editor page. Nothing. Then what exactly does the statement mean when the Product documentation reads - "knowledge submissions which are processed through a separate path." as shown in the first screenshot above.

The response to this is there in the Product documentation itself but unfortunately with a title that will not fetch the article as a primary result through a Product documentation search.

The path followed by a knowledge submission.

Hello Anish,

I think Knowledge - Instant Publish, Knowledge - Approval Publish, Knowledge - Instant Retire, Knowledge - Approval Retire these all workflow get used during KB submission process.

Mostly Knowledge - Instant Publish, Knowledge - Approval Publish these 2 will get used.

What I found interesting with the articles you referred is:

The objective of the Knowledge Submission workflow is actually to allow you to use the features related to the Task table, i.e. to be able to create your own assignment and approval rules.
