Q&A - posted as we get answers:

  • Can KB templates be used with the word add-in?

    • No, We don’t support KB template with word add-in functionality. We have brief documentation here. We should add more documentation on this.

  • When creating new article the Right Pane shows some fields that needs to be filled in for the article in ServiceNow. Is there a way to add/remove fields in this space?
    • We have some mandatory fields that are required when creating articles directly in ServiceNow, want to bring those fields in here as well. 
    • Yes, we have view called “Word Add-in”. You can configure fields in that view.
    • Do we have documentation on how to configure the fields?
      • No, We need to add documentation on this as well. However, we have support created article on this.

Would love to talk specifically about the option to add a replacement article in place of a retired article (per this article Retire a knowledge article (servicenow.com)) - will this functionality be turned on by default, what we should expect to see, etc. Thanks!

I would appreciate if individuals could share their Knowledge Best Practices.  We are starting a new instance using SPM and ITSM and would love to learn from others regarding their do's and don'ts... Also, what is the best way to format an article text body to have the most impact for end user use?   Look forward to tomorrow...!

The fields are read only although I have admin access.
The setup is completed for Microsoft word online, but when I click on create article it doesn't allows me to submit and if mandatory fields are required but I am unable to edit them how to move forward.
