Link to Knowledge Category

I've seen the 2017 post about how to do this, but unfortunately the solution is no longer available. I'm looking to link directly to a specific knowledge category from our customer portal in Utah. Is there any way to do that?

The format should be similar to the following where you would replace the bolded sections:
https://[yourinstance].service-now.com/[portal]?id=kb_category&kb_category=[sys_id of KB category]

Trying to follow the above link but I am unsure what yourinstance, portal, and sys_id of KB category are or how to find those? I am not a SN Admin but a Knowledge Administrator trying to solve linking to a category. Thanks for your help in advance. 

Hi Gbutkiew,

you can get the URL by following these steps while logged in to your instance (because you're looking for a private category that will not be available for unauthenticated users):

  1. Go to your KB portal. Typically that would be: https://gbutkiew.service-now.com/sp
    • Replace "gbutkiew" with the name of your/your company's instance
      In an out-of-box instance it looks like this:

  2. Click the "Knowledge base" tile to open the KB page:

  3. Select the category you're looking for (see highlighted "IT" in the previous image. You will see the articles in that category, and in the URL bar at the top of your browser you'll see that link that you can copy to send users to that category directly.
