Pasting images into Knowledge Articles

Is there any way we can add a feature to rename an image when utilizing the drag and drop feature within Tiny MCE to make it easier for my authors? Organizing and renaming 10 graphics named pasted_image.png gets confusing and my authors don't want to take the time to add them in correctly (it's just easier to cut and paste).

What is the use case for having the images named a certain way? I've never considered renaming the images as the platform seems to manage them just fine. We typically copy/paste and delete and copy/paste new images all the time without really caring what they are called or even cleaning up old images in the attachment list. We don't use attachments (99% of the time) so the image names are not revealed to the reader either.

Our uses case for it, is something we call the Pasted Image Syndrome:

So, for the ease of use/administration, we consider it better to have individual names. It's like your family photo album: For the images of your closest relatives, it's rather easy to keep track of them. Having identical twins though...

ok...if that works for you.  For us, that seems like extra work without much ROI. We just delete the image from the article wherever it appears, and insert a new one via copy/paste. I can truly say that none of our knowledge writers even pay attention to the attachment list and it doesn't seem to matter to our article readers either. Again, we don't use attachments so the Display Attachments box is not checked (99% of the time) so no one really sees the list of pictures.

I would agree with you. We just paste the images in and continue on. Except for rare ones that we know are reused we upload to the image library and put a naming convention on so they can be easily found e.g. "Important" for an image to bring attention to a specific piece of text.

I don't really see the benefit of using it from the attachments list. If as in your example the image has incorrect information in it just remove it from the article body and replace it with the correct one.
