Restricting Users to Article creation in one knowledge base

Hi All,

Currently we have 2 Knowledge Bases:

  • Human Resources General Knowledge
  • HR Analyst Knowledge

The Human Resources General Knowledge only allows for 8 users to create articles for the whole Knowledge Base.

For the HR Analyst Knowledge Base we have been asked to give those same 8 users plus some additional users the ability to create articles for that knowledge base only.

Is there a way to restrict the additional users to only have the ability to create articles for the HR Analyst Knowledge Base?

At the knowledge base level for HR Analyst Knowledge Base leverage the "Can Contribute".  You can define a group and add that group to the Can Contribute field of HR Analyst Knowledge Base.

Hi Mike - Thanks for the quick response! When I try to take out the current user criteria in the "Can Contribute" they remain selected. I have tried to deactivate the User Criteria selected and then removing, but yet it remains. Has this happened to you before?

Hello,

I have not experienced that issue. It sounds there could be a permission issue.  Do you have the Knowledge Admin role ?  If not, you would need that role unless someone has setup a different ACL with those permissions.

I am an admin so I have knowledge_admin already and I have looked at the ACL's controlling this function. I meet the requirements, this is a bit strange.
