Some of our knowledge articles open in strange view when searched by KB number

If you search a knowledge article by entering its KB number in the search bar on our portal some of our articles are shown in the correct, user friendly, way while others are shown in a strange, rather oldfashioned way.

It might have to do something with the knowledge template that has been used to create these knowledge articles but we are unable to find what is going wrong.

Maybe the article URL has some info in it.
Correct displaying article:
esc?id=kb_article&table=kb_knowledge&sys_id=b2a2a704c3f6ce54ce1098a4e4013156&recordUrl=kb_view.do%3Fsysparm_article%3DKB0011449
Incorrect displaying article:

esc?
id=form&table=u_kb_template_service_catalog_article&sys_id=c84f67af83bab9146d06f665eeaad37c

Has anyone else seen this before and maybe some idea on how to fix it?

Hello @Johan van den H ,

Yes, you found it correct that is happening due to the old template is used while creating those articles. In order to get those corrected you might need to upgrade the article, if possible then retire those articles and create it again.

Please mark my answer as accepted solution and give thumbs up, if it helps you.

What makes a template go "old"?
In other words, what is going wrong?

The templates connected to this weird behaviour contain templates of all ages, both old and new.

Hi Johan,

Does the same happen if you search using the articles description or keywords? Or does it only show that view when you search using the KB number?

This only happens when you use the KB number to search for an article.
The article will be displayed (in the strange format) directly (so there is no list of search results displayed) when entering the KB number in the search bar.

When I search for a phrase from the same article it is displayed correctly after I click the link of the article in the list of search results.
