Two Doors into Lux Lab: Choosing Your Path

Developers don't all arrive at Lux from the same place. Some already spend their days in VS Code, with their extensions, terminal, and Git workflow configured just right. Others are coming from Angular service portals or other experiences where a guided, step-by-step path matters more than a familiar editor. Lux Lab has two entry points so both groups can start where they're comfortable.

Option 1

Lux Lab for VS Code Extension

The Lux Lab VS Code extension is for developers who want to keep working in the tools they already use. If you live in VS Code, you can install the extension and continue building with the habits, shortcuts, and integrations you've already built up. There's no new environment to learn and no context switch. It meets experienced developers in their existing workflow and adds Lux capabilities on top of it.

Option 2

Lux Lab

The Lux Lab IDE is for developers who want a more guided experience. It's a dedicated environment built around the Lux Framework, so new builders don't have to assemble their own setup or figure out which pieces fit together. For teams moving from Angular service portals or other platform experiences, it offers a clearer on-ramp into Lux concepts and patterns.

So Which Should You Use?

◆  Start with the VS Code extension if you're an experienced developer who already works in VS Code.

◆  Start with the Lux Lab IDE if you're new to Lux, coming from a different front-end background, or want a more structured way to learn the framework.

Both lead to the same framework and the same outcomes. The difference is the path you take to get there.
