Travelling from Berlin to Dublin directly

Hi All

Capita Secure Managed Services is a managed service provider with a self-hosted, domain-separated ServiceNow instance based on Berlin.   We've done quite a bit of customisation of the out of the box version.   We also support a number of public sector customers running their own single instance of ServiceNow, based on our customised, domain separated instance.

We are about to start planning our upgrade (preferably to Dublin) which we will need to complete by the end of this year.

Do any of you have experience of migrating direct from Berlin to Dublin or would the advice be, in all circumstances, to migrate to Calgary first and then to Dublin?

Many thanks

Annette Mercer

Hi Annette,

Yes we have moved directly from berlin to dublin on our QA, Dev and Sandbox version and we are moving Prod tomorrow 🙂

Still so far we haven't came accross any of such major challenges but yes there are some of which we have identified and you can find them in the below post.

Hi Solutioner

Many thanks for responding so quickly and the information you've provided looks really helpful. I can't mark it as correct as I don't have sufficient technical knowledge of ServiceNow to judge but I will pass your comments on to one of our developers for him to review and ask him to confirm.

Kind regards

Annette

Hi Annette,

Sure. Glad to hear that you are satisfied with the answer. Will wait for your developers comment.

Also ask him to check this url Upgrades Best Practices - ServiceNow Wiki for the best practices to be followed while performing/before upgrades.
