Do we have a feature in platform to configure floating kind of notification?

Hi team, do we have a way to setup notifications like - floating or banner in platform? We have our application deployed in servicenow instance and want to show notifications for mostly  planned maintenance notices, urgent info,  system downtimes etc

In the EC portal, we have an announcement section/widget you can use.

We can configure the banner announcement there as well.

Also, SOW has a separate announcement section too.

I configured this but unable to see the banner for my application/experience

when I select announcement config as unified navigation then I am able to see, any idea on this?

To make banners appear in backend forms, you need to use:

• Next Experience Banner Announcements (Zurich and newer)

• or a UI macro/injection script to render announcement banners inside form headers.​

2. Use Next Experience Banner Announcements (Recommended for Zurich+)

Zurich introduced support for showing banners in the Next Experience UI (backend forms).

Steps

1. Navigate to System UI → Banner Announcements (table: sys_banner_announcement).

2. Click New and fill in:

   • Short description (text to show in banner)

   • Active = true

   • Start and End date/time

   • (Optional) Icon, Color, Background

3. To test, log out and back in or refresh your form with unified navigation.
   You should see the banner appear across backend pages (including forms and list views).​
