Setting up archive rules for CMDB CI table.

Balaji Ramanath

We need to archive the CIs from the CMDB CI(cmdb_ci) table, however, we couldn't find them in the table listed under the Archiving rule form. Please explain why this is happening and how we can complete the archiving rule.

seems like there is a dictionary attribute which is blocking you selecting cmdb classes

search the attribute here

Hi Ravi,

Thank you for your response.

But I don't see any such attributed defined in our instance. Pls, advise.

Thanks!

where are you checking that , just to be clear - the field is of archive table itself , also check the advanced view , can you share screenshot ?

Ravi, Thanks for highlighting the view to Advanced.

yes, I found that, Should this be removed to solve the query?

Question

The concern here is what would happen if we enabled the archive on the parent cmdb_ci table by removing the filter and overriding the OOTB functionality.
ServiceNow should have a purpose for removing that table in the first place.
