Qlik SAM Pro Integration

Hi Community,

Has anyone integrated Qlik or Qlikview with SAM Pro. In our current project, the client wants us to integrate Qlik with SAM Pro for subscription and usage information. I couldn't find any relevant information for this particular publisher integration in ServiceNow Documentation or in the community. Also, there is no OOTB integration available for Qlik in SaaS License Management.

If anyone has successfully integrated Qlik with ServiceNow SAM Pro, please help us with the following information -

  1. What integration approach did you follow ?
  2. Detailed process of the Integration - what must be asked from the client, prerequisite steps in any, etc.
  3. Technical challenges faced, if any.
  4. Final outcome of the integration and what value it added.

Also, share some technical documentation or architecture diagram if available.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @ankurc2

As per this article  : https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/How-to-get-started-with-ServiceNow-in-Qlik-A...

You can follow traditional Rest API path . In the link , Table API path is given.

But I always recommend scripted API over by Table API for better tracking.

Hi @ankurc2,

the shared endpoint details by @Tanushree Maiti are a good starting point to combine publisher API with the ServiceNow SAM Pro "SaaS License Connections" feature to create a custom SaaS integration if a direct integration is not available. The documentation covers all relevant steps to import user, product and usage data into SAM Pro.

SaaS License Connections • Australia Asset Management • Docs | ServiceNow

Creating a custom integration helps you connect the Software Asset Management application with a SaaS application that doesn't have an existing integration in SaaS License Management.

The low-code framework uses ServiceNow® Integration Hub and ServiceNow® Flow Designer to connect with a SaaS provider’s API endpoints. You can perform the following actions:
  • Download a list of all users, view meaningful usage data, and optimize your SaaS spend by reclaiming unused subscriptions.
  • Manage your custom SaaS connections along with the base system SaaS connections using Software Asset Management software models and reporting.

Best, Dennis
