Hi All,
We are looking at using entitlement consumption rules in SAMPro but can't seem to figure out how they work for software that does not have a software install record on a CI (specifically copilot).
Does anyone have experience in this area?
Thanks
Graham

Hi Graham,
The important point here is that Entitlement Consumption Rules control which consumption is allowed against an entitlement; they don't create the consumption record themselves.
If Copilot does not have a corresponding Software Installation / Discovery Model on a CI, you may not get the expected consumption through the normal reconciliation process.
You should first determine what evidence is available for Copilot — for example, a discovered installation, user assignment, or usage data depending on the licensing metric. Then configure the entitlement and consumption rule against that data.
If Copilot is a user/subscription-based product rather than a traditionally installed application, the licensing model may need to be handled differently from a CI-based software installation.
So You should first check the software model, license metric, and what consumption evidence SAM Pro is receiving for Copilot before configuring the consumption rule.
