Introducing T2 SOC AI Specialist: Your SOC's Newest Analyst Works 24/7

A mature SOC takes 4 hours to contain a security incident. That used to be the gold standard. It no longer is. In that same 4-hour window, lateral movement begins within the first 30 minutes – and by hour four, a breach isn't a risk. It's a reality.

In fact, one of our forward-thinking SecOps customers told us their mission is to “Detect in Seconds, and Response in minutes (DISARM)”. Another SecOps customer echoed that objective when they shared that their mission is: “Point of Alert to Point of Containment in 10 minutes.”

The reality is that SOC teams are not slow. They're overwhelmed. Alert volumes continue to climb while skilled Tier 2 analysts remain scarce, expensive, and critically human. They context-switch. They handle one incident at a time.

But Attackers don't.

Today's threats move at machine speed. Modern attacks are automated, AI-powered, and built for velocity. The threat surface expands faster than any team of humans can handle.

The T2 SOC AI Specialist is built to match that velocity. Analysis to containment in under 5 minutes. 48× faster than the industry average. At that speed, the breach window closes before the damage begins.

A New Kind of SOC Teammate

The T2 SOC AI Specialist joins your SOC as a team member, on-boarded like an analyst and available around the clock. You have full control over which security incidents the Specialist is assigned from your queue – And the Specialist will drive them through the full incident response lifecycle with complete reasoning at every step.

24/7. Parallel. Tireless.

Where your analysts handle one incident at a time, the AI Specialist handles many simultaneously, consistently, at the same quality threshold every time.

SOC Managers can easily onboard the T2 SOC AI Specialist at the click of a button.

Once onboarded, any standard way of assigning an incident holds true for an AI Specialist too. For example, you can assign incidents to the Specialist by priority, assets, business criticality, or any other criteria, using flows and business rules.

What the AI Specialist Actually Does

The T2 SOC AI Specialist receives incident context and orchestrates the end-to-end response across the full NIST incident response lifecycle based on past similar security incidents and KBs. Child Agents are invoked sequentially per incident phase, each returning structured outcomes. Routing decisions between phases allow the AI Specialist to skip unnecessary phases (e.g., skip containment if the threat is benign). Supporting Agents are invoked on-demand by phase agents.

Analysis Agent: Triages incoming incidents, assesses severity, and enriches context by querying across your EDR, TIP, and other systems such as VirusTotal, Hybrid Analysis, Crowdstrike, etc. It doesn't just look at the incident it understands the asset, the user, and the blast radius.

Containment Agent: Executes configured containment actions: isolating endpoints, revoking credentials, blocking IPs on firewall products such as Palo Alto Networks for example, with the precision of a playbook and the reasoning of an analyst.

Eradication & Recovery Agents: Identifies root cause, removes persistence mechanisms, and initiates recovery steps based on your SOC's defined procedures like deleting phishing emails and other malicious artefacts.

Review & Closure Agents: Generates a structured post-incident analysis with evidence trail, timeline, analyst-ready summary, so nothing is lost and every incident is audit-ready.

At any point, if an incident requires human judgment such as an error or lack of context, it escalates with incident with full context, not a raw alert dump, but a reasoned handover with investigation state intact.

Human-in-the-Loop, by Design

The AI Specialist doesn't replace analyst judgement; it reserves analyst attention for the decisions that need it. Containment actions, for example can be enabled for Human-in-the-loop approval to allow analysts to be in control of the critical decisions.

Every handover arrives with a complete reasoning summary including what was found, what was done, and precisely what the analyst needs to decide next. Analysts direct their attention to consequential decisions. The AI Specialist handles everything that leads to that it making the decision making simple and effective.

Call To Action

In today’s world where AI-powered attacks have become the norm, the ambitious objectives to respond in “minutes” to “10 minutes” are no longer a luxury, they’re a necessity – Forward-thinking customers are not just talking about AI, they’re putting AI to work to strengthen their defense.

The Tier 2 AI SOC Specialist is currently available in Restricted Access – And we’re moving fast.

We have 5 Design Partner spots remaining for organizations ready to test the Specialist in pre-production this July or August. Design Partners get hands-on access, direct input into the product roadmap, and a head start on the capability that’s redefining the SOC.

To claim your spot, please reach out to madhumitha.reddy@servicenow.com or antonio.challita@servicenow.com.
